George R. Henderson 65 died at 1 a.m. Saturday at his home at 516 S. Walnut Street. He had been a Crawfordsville resident since 1941 and had worked for the Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power Co. and his last employment before retirement was the Crawfordsville Casket Co. He was a member of the local Primitive Baptist Church. He also belonged to the Eagles Lodge. Born May 6, 1900 in Greene County, Ind he was the son of Pleasant and Faithia Henderson. He married Eva May Wagoner in Shoals, Ind on Nov 23, 1925. The couple began housekeeping at Lyons, ind and had lived in various localities before moving in Linnsburg in 1939 and from there to Crawfordsville. Survivors include the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Phillips of Rockville and Mrs. Lawrence Meagher of Grass Valley, Calif; four brothers, CF Henderson and Harry Henderson, both of Bloomfield; Floyd Henderson of Old Traction Road and Roy Henderson of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Shelton and Mrs. Fern Fisher both of Switz City, Ind; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by 7 sons and daughters and five brothers and sisters. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Bright Funeral Home, where friends may call. Elder Levi Williams of Thorntown will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.-- kbz
